Types of Braces

Meister Orthodontics is proud to provide personalized and high-quality orthodontic treatments for all those looking for an orthodontist around the Twin Cities area. We offer a variety of braces in order to suit the individual needs of each patient. We supply metal braces, clear braces, gold braces, and also the alternative to braces, Invisalign.

Metal Braces

colorMetal braces are the most common and popular type of braces that are used today. They are made of stainless steel and, like other types of braces; they are permanently bonded to the front of the patient’s teeth for the length of the orthodontic treatment process. Metal braces are now lighter, more attractive, and more comfortable than they were in the past.

Clear Braces

clearThese ceramic braces are made of a clear material that is popular amongst adults because of the braces’ transparency. The material blends into the tooth’s natural color, making their appearance nearly invisible to others. The only downsides to clear braces are that they are more fragile than metal braces and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Gold Braces

Invisalign

invisalignInvisalign is the alternative to braces that uses a series of removable aligners to gradually shift the patient’s teeth until they arrive at the position desired by the orthodontist. These aligners are custom-made for each patient by using advanced 3D computer imaging technology. Invisalign isn’t suitable for kids; however, it is an option for some teenagers and adults that are deemed to be a candidate for them.
